Peakle Privacy Policy and Data Practices

About this policy

Peakle is a browser game about climbing through daily and unlimited trivia challenges. This policy explains how the operator of peakle.app handles information when you visit the site, play a climb, create an account, contact support, or make a purchase if one is offered. “Peakle,” “we,” and “us” refer to the service at peakle.app.

Information we handle

• Game play and progress. Peakle sends the answer IDs you choose to our game server so it can check whether each answer is higher than the previous one and calculate your result. Detailed run history, accepted answers, practice records, and sound preference are saved in your browser storage and are not automatically synced to your Peakle account. Separately, completed-run summaries (mode, topic, score, challenge, and completion time) are stored on our server to operate leaderboards. A public leaderboard may show your profile name and country/region when you are signed in; guest players receive a generated nickname. If you use another device or browser, your local detailed history may not be available there.
• Account and sign-in details. If you create an account or sign in, we handle details such as your name, email address, email-verification status, profile image, sign-in provider, and account/session identifiers. Depending on the sign-in method, the authentication provider may send us basic profile information. We use this information to create and secure your account and provide account-related features.
• Device, security, and language information. When you register, our authentication flow may store your IP address, an approximate country derived from the hosting or network provider, and a language preference. Session records can include an IP address and browser user-agent. Our hosting and security providers may also process technical request data to deliver and protect the site.
• Referral and campaign information. If a visit includes campaign tags (such as UTM parameters) or an external referrer, Peakle may store a first-touch attribution cookie for up to 30 days. If you later register, sanitized campaign and referrer details may be added to your account record so we can understand how people discover Peakle. Please do not put personal or sensitive information in campaign tags.
• Cookies and browser storage. We use necessary cookies for sign-in, sessions, security, and saved choices. Peakle also uses browser storage for game progress and preferences described above. Depending on the site configuration and your location, we may use audience-measurement tools such as Google Analytics or Plausible, advertising tools such as Google AdSense, and support tools such as Crisp or Tawk.to. The tools that are active may change. Where required, non-essential cookies or similar technologies will be controlled through a consent choice. If a cookie banner appears, you can use it to manage your choice; you can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser.
• Messages and purchases. If you email support, we use the information in your message to respond and keep an appropriate support record. If Peakle offers a paid feature, subscription, supporter option, or other purchase, the checkout provider processes payment credentials. We may receive transaction details such as your email, product, amount, currency, payment status, and provider reference. We do not need or store your full card number to provide Peakle.

Why we use information

We use information to run and secure the game, validate answers, show your results, maintain accounts and sessions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, understand how visitors find the site, improve Peakle, and complete or document purchases when available. Where applicable, we rely on providing the service you requested, our legitimate interests in operating and protecting Peakle, legal obligations, or your consent. If processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it for future processing without affecting what happened before withdrawal.

We do not use game scores to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Service providers and commercial features

We may share information with service providers that host the site or database, provide authentication or email delivery, measure site use, display advertising, provide customer support, or process payments. They may use information only as needed to provide their services to us and under their own applicable terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or in a business transfer such as a merger or sale.

Peakle may be supported over time by advertising, clearly identified sponsorships, affiliate links, optional subscriptions, one-time purchases, supporter contributions, or paid game features. A commercial feature may involve a third party. For example, if you follow an affiliate or sponsor link, that partner may receive information about your visit under its own privacy policy. Before introducing a new use of personal information, we will update this policy and provide consent or opt-out choices where applicable law requires them. We do not sell email lists to advertisers for their own direct-marketing campaigns.

Some privacy laws define “sale” or “sharing” more broadly than an exchange of money, including certain targeted-advertising activity. If Peakle enables a feature that falls within such a definition, we will provide the disclosures and controls required for the people and locations covered by that law.

Retention and your choices

Browser game history remains until you clear Peakle’s site data in that browser. Server-side leaderboard summaries are kept while needed to operate rankings and maintain score history, subject to verified deletion requests and any security, legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution needs. The attribution cookie expires after 30 days; campaign details saved to a registered account follow the account-retention period. We keep account information while the account is active and for as long afterward as needed for security, legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes. Session data expires or is removed when a session ends or is revoked. Support messages, security records, and purchase records are kept only as long as needed for the reason they were collected and any legal obligations. Retention periods for technical logs and third-party analytics are also affected by the settings and policies of our hosting and service providers.

You can clear local game history and preferences using your browser’s site-data controls. To request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of account information, email support@peakle.app from the address associated with your account. We may ask for information needed to verify your request. We may retain limited records when the law requires it or when they are needed to resolve a security issue or legal claim.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, complain to your privacy regulator, or opt out of a legally defined sale or sharing of personal information. We will provide the applicable choices and honor valid requests as required by law.

International processing and security

Peakle and its service providers may process information in countries different from yours. Where a transfer safeguard is required, we will use an appropriate mechanism under applicable law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Peakle’s features, providers, or business model changes. We will change the date above and, when appropriate, give notice through the site or by email. Material new uses of information will be presented with any consent or other choice required by law.
